Floating Points.

Samuel T Shepherd AKA Floating Points is what I would call a beat scientist. The UK based DJ and producer has become prolific in his lo-fi tech and groovy electronica sounds.

Not bad for a guy who holds a PHD in Molecular Genetics!

His tracks have been featured on numerous DJs' projects all over the world namingly on Germany's Deeper Shades of House radion shows and he has also been playlisted by the world famous beat junkie Giles Peterson. My personal favourite tracks have to be "People's Potential" and the oh-so-awesome "Vacuum Boogie".
